Timothy J. Miller has been named to the Chicago faculty of a two-day seminar presented by the Practising Law Institute (PLI) entitled, “Outsourcing 2012: Cloud, Innovation and Other Hot Topics.” The Chicago seminar will be on October 1 and 2, 2012, at the University of Chicago Gleicher Center.
The seminar is for attorneys involved in outsourcing arrangements; attorneys who practice in the corporate, technology, intellectual property, employment, regulatory, tax, financial and insurance arenas; and other business professionals. Participants can earn one hour of ethics credit.
Mr. Miller will present “Ethics Issues in Negotiating Sourcing Deals” including: (1) Zealous representation within the bounds of the law; (2) Puffery versus false statements: where is the line drawn?; (3) Client confidences, the attorney-client privilege and waiver; (4) Limits on communications with adverse parties; (5) Ethical considerations in legal process outsourcing; and (6) Metadata, social media and other emerging issues.
